| Information | The NSFA was formed in 1989 to provide Nova Scotians with a clear standard to help create and evaluate the quality of fitness leadership. We are a not-for-profit organization and a member of the National Fitness Leadership Alliance (NFLA). As a not-for-profit organization, the NSFA is an unbiased source of fitness education and certification. NSFA certifications are recognized nationally and are transferable to any province/territory in Canada. The NSFA promotes professionalism in the industry. NSFA is a member of the National Fitness Leadership Alliance (NSFL), an assembly of provincial/territorial fitness associations working together. This alliance of provincial not-for profit fitness associations allows NSFA members to take their certifications across the country, knowing they can compete in a national arena. NFLA is the steward of all national fitness certification standards and represents Canada around fitness issues at the international level. It is through this body that our members access professional liability insurance coverage. |
