Description & Services


The CB Island Hoppers is a non-competitive walking club open to people of all ages and abilities who enjoy the outdoors. The club is dedicated to walking for fun, fitness and friendship, exploring the many walking/hiking trails of Cape Breton Island and the CBRM area while increasing their personal health.

Volkssporting is a non-competitive form of sport. Most events are done in a Group Walk activity averaging 10k and shorter distances of 5k, it is a fun activity you do with a club, with your family, with your friends, or as an individual. You set your own goal to complete the walk event at your own pace and time. We promote walk events as well as snowshoeing, XC skiing, Swimming and cycling.

There is a $2:00 fee for all members and guest at all walk/hike events. You do not have to be a member to walk with CBIH. To become a member there is $15.00 annual fee, you get timely up-to-date information, schedules and voting privilege's.

Accessibility CBIH is an outdoor walking/hiking club. There is no dedicated office. Some areas such as the CB Highlands National Park have limited wheelchairs.
